How to make a Microwave Peach Crisp

by Stephanie

This Microwave Peach Crisp is similar to a cobbler. It’s a classic fruit crisp that can be made with either frozen or fresh fruit and made with a streusel topping with oats. You are gonna love it, and it’s so easy to whip up for a weeknight dessert.

Ingredients to make a Microwave Peach Crisp

Ingredients to make a microwave peach crisp
  • 15-20 oz frozen peaches or 4-6 fresh peaches sliced
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

How do you make a Microwave Peach Crisp?

This is really a throw together type of dessert.

Frozen peaches in a microwave safe bowl

Place the peaches into a 1.5-qt deep dish microwave-safe baking dish.

Cornstarch mixed with water in a white bowl

Combine cornstarch and water and pour over the peaches and give it a stir.

The cornstarch poured over the peaches

Melt the butter.

The topping ingredients all in a bowl together

Combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, and cinnamon together. Then, add the melted butter and mix until everything is moistened.

The topping ingredients mixed together in a white bowl with a spoon.

Spread over the peaches.

The topping poured over the peaches before cooking.

Cook in 5-minute increments on HIGH. Allow to sit for 1 minute each time before cooking for a total 15 minutes. So, you’ll cook the peach crisp for 5 minutes, let it sit in the microwave for 1 minute. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then let sit for 1 minute. Then, cook for 5 additional minutes.

After cooking allow it to sit in the microwave for a couple of minutes before removing.

Serve immediately with ice cream or whipped cream.

Can you substitute canned peaches?

Yes, but the cook time will be much less, probably half the time. You also need to make sure you drain the peaches.

How do you store leftovers?

I transfer them to a sealed container and store in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. Then, reheat a serving in the microwave for 30 seconds to a 1 minute.

Can you make this ahead of time?

You can, but I think it tastes the best when it’s made and served fresh from the microwave.
