I make chocolate ganache quite frequently to take a dessert from delicious to decadent. It’s just such an easy thing to make and you can easily do it in the microwave. You probably have the ingredients in your kitchen right now.

Ingredients to make 2-ingredient Chocolate Ganache in the Microwave
Super easy, just two ingredients!
- Semi Sweet or Dark Chocolate Chips (or chopped bittersweet chocolate bar)
- Whipping Cream
How do you make Microwave Chocolate Ganache?
In a microwave-safe bowl combine an entire bag of chocolate chips (12 oz bag) with 1/2 cup of whipping cream.
Heat in the microwave for 60-70 seconds.
Whisk it all together until it’s completely smooth.
If there are still unmelted chocolate chips, heat for an additional 10-15 seconds and then whisk again until smooth.
Once it’s smooth, it’s ready to use.
Drizzle it over cakes, brownies, scones, etc.
I put it in a ziplock bag, snip off a corner and pipe it that way when I need to drizzle.
What can I do with chocolate ganache?
So much! Here’s a few ideas:
- topping for cake, cupcakes, brownies
- dip strawberries or other fruit
- whip it into frosting
- add additional cream and make hot chocolate
- ice cream topping
- turn it into fudge – add nuts, fruit, or candy and spread it in a pan to harden
How do I store leftover chocolate ganache?
Keep it in a sealed container in the fridge for a week or so.
