What ingredients do you need to make French Onion Soup Casserole in the Microwave?
- 2 cups Minute Rice
- 1 cup beef broth
- 10 oz can condensed French onion soup
- 10 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/4 cup butter, sliced
How do you make Microwave French Onion Rice Casserole?
For this recipe, we’re using precooked rice, like Minute Rice or Success Rice. It’s precooked, so it cooks very quickly in the microwave. You can make regular rice in the microwave, but it will take an additional 20 or so more minutes to cook than this recipe.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rice, beef broth and both soups and mix it up until well combined.
Slice the butter and place it over the top of the rice.
Cook for 5 minutes on HIGH.
Give it a stir to mix in the melted butter.
Cook the rice for an additional 5 minutes on HIGH.
Stir the rice again.
Cook at 50% for 3 more minutes.
Serve immediately.
Add cooked ground beef
This rice is great served with salisbury steak or meatloaf.
You can also make ground beef in the microwave and mix it into the casserole as well, when you mix in the soups, and make it an entire meal in one dish.
What substitutions can I make?
You can totally skip the beef broth and use plain water or chicken broth. Otherwise, I would not recommend substituting any of the other ingredients.
