You might call it Cornbread Stuffing, but I think down in the Southern states we like to call it Cornbread Dressing. Now with a slice of cornbread or a couple of cornbread muffins you can easily make Cornbread Dressing in a Mug in a minute and a half!
It’s such a yummy part of Thanksgiving, and now you can easily make a single serving for yourself anytime!
Table of Contents
Ingredients you need for Cornbread Dressing in a Mug
- 2 cornbread muffins
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
- a pinch of sage
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of black pepper
How do you make Cornbread Dressing in a Mug?
You will need a couple of cornbread muffins or a thick slice of cornbread to make this. If you don’t have that, you can whip up a quick batch with Jiffy brand corn muffin mix right in the microwave.
Once you have the cornbread muffins, just crumble two of them up in a microwave-safe 12 oz mug.
Then, crack an egg and add it to the mug. Use a fork or spoon to mix it up really well.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add to the cornbread crumbles.
Add between 1/4 to 1/2 cup of chicken broth or water. You’ll want to watch the consistency. Add 1/4 cup first and mix it up, and then add more as needed. You want the consistency to be like a thick batter, not too soupy of a mixture.
Add a couple shakes of each sage, salt and pepper.
Then give it a good stir and pop it in the microwave for 90 seconds.
Let it cool for a few minutes before eating. One bite will remind you of Thanksgiving.

- 2 tablespoons of cheddar cheese for a cheesier version.
- 1/4 cup of shredded chicken for a chicken & stuffing casserole flavor.
- A couple slices of crispy crumbled bacon for a savory version.
- 1 tablespoon of chopped onion for some crunchy flavor
- 1 tablespoon of raisins or Craisins for a fruity flavor.
