How do you make these Dirty Earwax Q-Tips?

First, make the small-batch caramel sauce and put it in the fridge for at least 15-30 minutes.

Melt 2-3 squares of the white almond bark in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each time, until it’s completely smooth and melted.

Lay out a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet or platter.

Dip the end of a pretzel, about 1/4 of an inch, into the almond bark. Then, immediately press a mini marshmallow onto the end.

Do the same thing for the other end of the pretzel.

Now this step is OPTIONAL: Dip each marshmallow end into the almond bark, letting the excess drip off before setting it down on the cookie sheet.

Once you’ve filled the cookie sheet with “q-tips” pop the cookie sheet into the freezer for 10 minutes to harden.

Twirl each marshmallow end in the caramel sauce to make it look like earwax. Then, set it back down on the cookie sheet.

Freeze again for 10-15 minutes.

Then, they’re ready to serve.

Can you make the caramel sauce ahead of time?

Yes, you can make 2-3 days ahead of time and just keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.

Can you make the q-tips ahead of time?

Absolutely.

You can make just the q-tips without the caramel 2-3 days ahead of time and keep them in the fridge.

Or… you can make them with the caramel sauce on them and keep them in the fridge up to 3 days early.
