But you don’t need those. You can just use paper towels to cook crispy bacon in the microwave.

First, lay out 3-4 paper towels flat and stacked on top of each other on the counter.  Then, lay out your bacon across the paper towels.  Make sure to space the bacon out so it doesn’t touch.  I usually do between 5 and 6 pieces at a time.

Next, lay two paper towels on top of the bacon.  Put in the microwave and cook for 5-6 minutes.

Remove the whole thing from the microwave and set it on a plate.  Remove the top paper towel and then remove the bacon from the bottom paper towels.  They might stick, but you should be able to carefully peel the bacon from the paper towels.

Then it’s time to eat!

It works the exact same way, though you may need an extra minute or two to get it done.  Just lift the top paper towels and look to see if the bacon is done or if the meat still looks uncooked.

I could not figure this one out.  When I cooked the bacon to 4-5 minutes, it came out a little soft and not crispy.  But, as it cooled off, it immediately became crispy bacon.  I would not recommend cooking it less as you don’t want to eat uncooked bacon.

What can you do with leftover microwave bacon?

There’s a few things you can do if you have leftover bacon.

  1. I put mine in a ziplock bag and stored it in the fridge and then when I wanted to eat it, I just reheated a piece for about 20-30 seconds at a time.  It makes a great low carb snack.
  2. You can also crumble the bacon and store it in the fridge for a few days to mix it into other recipes.  Crumbled bacon is wonderful on salads and as a topping for other foods.  You could mix it into your Scrambled Eggs or Migas
